Idris Azad
Novelist
Multi-genre Pakistani writer who published philosophical works, novels, and poetry. His publications include Islam Maghrib kay Katehray Main (Islam in the Court of West), Maoseeqi, Tasweer aur Sharaaband Aurat (Music, Picture and Vine), and Iblees aur Khuda (Women, Devil and God).
He attended the University of the Punjab, Lahore.
An advocate of biosocial theory, he divided animals into four classes: Swarms, Gangs, Droves, and Flocks.
Born to a religious scholar father in Khushab, Pakistan, he grew up with four sisters and three brothers. He later raised four children of his own.
He and Samina Raja are both Pakistani poets.
