Koen Verweij
Speed Skater
Dutch speed skater who won the gold medal in the team pursuit at the 2014 Winter Olympics as well as a silver in the 1,500 meter race. He is also a multiple-time World Speed Skating Champion.
He competed in his first 10 kilometer race in 2007 and received the Egbert Van't Oever Aanmoediging Award for the Best Young Dutch Skater.
He set a Dutch record in the 1,500 meter race with a time of 1:42.28 in November 2013.
He has a sister named Dorien.
He succeeded Sven Kramer as the world champion in men's speed skating in 2014.
