Actress and singer who has risen to fame for her work in Chinese film, often as a singer. Her work performing for the 1988 film Prison on Fire earned her a Hong Kong Film Award nomination for Best Original Song.
She started working at the age of 14 when she was hired as a movie theater usher. She learned how to play bass guitar as her first foray into music.
She has hosted the popular Cable TV baking reality series Maria's Kitchen. She appeared in the 2016 Hong Kong action comedy From Vegas to Macau III.
Her husband Rick passed away in November 2020. She has six children.
She and Aaron Kwok appeared in the 1992 film Gangs '92.
