Screenwriter and actor who co-wrote and starred in the cult film Wet Hot American Summer. He had two Comedy Central shows: Stella and Michael and Michael Have Issues and he wrote, directed, and starred in the 2005 film The Baxter.
He joined the sketch comedy troupe, The New Group, while a student at NYU and made his television debut as a cast member on MTV's The State.
He had a show, the Michael Showalter Show, broadcasted on Collegehumor.com.
His mother Elaine was a their critic. He and his wife, Anne Kalin Ellis, have twin boys.
He worked alongside actor Justin Theroux on his film, The Baxter.
