Sixth film made in the Planet of the Apes franchise which was acted as a direct remake to Planet of the Apes from 1968. It tells the story of astronauts crash landing on a planet inhabited by intelligent apes.
Trivia
Tim Burton directed the film which was produced by Richard D. Zanuck. Frequent Burton collaborator Danny Elfman composed the score.
