Former defensive midfielder who played for Barcelona from 1990 to 2001 and was a member of the Spanish national team from 1992 to 2001. He became Bayern Munich's manager in 2013 after four seasons at the helm of Barcelona. In 2016, he joined Manchester City.
He entered La Masia, Barcelona's training program, at the age of 13.
He earned two World Soccer Magazine Manager of the Year awards while coaching Barcelona.
He had three children, Marius, Maria and Valentina, with his wife Cristina Guardiola.
He managed Lionel Messi for four seasons on Barcelona before leaving the team in 2013.
