Robert Silverberg
Novelist
The author of numerous science fiction novels and short stories, he also edited several science fiction anthologies and was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame. His popular works include Starhaven; Aliens from Space; Starborne; and the Majipoor series.
He studied English literature at Columbia University. He published his first novel, Revolt on Alpha C, in 1955.
He won both the Hugo and Nebula Awards multiple times.
He grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He married Karen Haber in 1987.
His novella, Sailing to Byzantium, takes its name from a poem by William Butler Yeats.
