Originally the Red Stockings, the franchise won World Series title #5 in 1990. The team earned the nickname "Big Red Machine" during the 1970s.
Trivia
The team only had one losing season in the 1970s and won back-to-back World Series in 1975 and 1976. Star hitters Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan and Tony Pérez formed the nucleus for the "Big Red Machine."
