Best known as Detective Robert Goren in Law and Order: Criminal Intent. He also starred in the classic war film Full Metal Jacket and he was cast as Vic Hoskins in 2015's Jurassic World.

Before Fame

While pursuing his acting career in New York, he was also employed as the bouncer at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Trivia

His character in Law & Order was based on Sherlock Holmes.

Family Life

He was married to Greta Scacchi from 1989 to 1993 and in 1997, he married Carin van der Donk. He has three children, Leila, Luka and Elias.
