SS military commander who led the administration of the Third Reich and was responsible for setting up the notorious death camps.
He studied agronomy at the Technical University Munich, joined the Nazi Party in 1923 and joined the SS in 1925.
He went down in history as one of the leaders who directly carried out the Holocaust.
His wife was Margarete Bode. He had three children: Gudrun, Helge, and Nanette Dorotha.
Adolf Hitler asked him to establish the Einsatzgruppen and build the extermination camps. While facilitating this project, he oversaw the execution of over six million Jews and over 500,000 Romani civilians.
