Didi Gregorius

MLB shortstop who joined the New York Yankees in 2015. He has previously played for the Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks. He was named a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau by the Dutch government after winning the 2011 World Baseball Classic.
He was born in Amsterdam and grew up on the island of Curacao. He began his MLB career with the Cincinnati Reds in 2012.
He was chosen to represent the Netherlands at the 2013 World Baseball Classic but strained his ulnar collateral ligament while training and was ruled out.
He was born to parents Sherista and Johannes, who was also a professional baseball player.
He became teammates with Carlos Beltran in New York after being traded to the Yankees in 2014.
